The Rest of the Stories

The books you see in bookstores, supermarkets or the new releases page of Amazon are just the tip of the iceberg. Finding a book you enjoy can be the start of an amazing journey. You might even have just found your new favourite author.

You know the feeling when you’ve just finished a book you loved. It’s like you are inhabiting two worlds simultaneously. You don’t want to let go of the story. What do you do next? Well, hopefully you write a review! But after that?

If you are anything like me, you already have a pile of books vying to be read next. Do you dive straight into another book? Do you head back to the new releases for the next shiny new story?

Seize the opportunity

Finding a book you love is a special thing. Finding an author you love is even better. It doesn’t happen every day. So why not make the most of the opportunity?

Take a moment to find out what else that author has written. They might have a whole series to tempt you. Or some other standalone stories. If you find some books that look good, you can add them to your want to read shelf or list.

You don’t have to read them right away. Books are even better when you’ve had time to look forward to them. And you know, at the very least, you’re going to like them!

You can also follow the author on Amazon or a book site, like Goodreads or Bookbub, to be notified when they have something new available.

As an author, seeing a reader finish one of my books and put the others on their want to read shelf is the ultimate confidence booster. It’s also great motivation to write the next story.
