My Favourite Books from Childhood

Somebody asked me what my favourite books were when I was a child. I like a bit of nostalgia as much as the next person so here are my answers.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

by C. S. Lewis. I found this book quite challenging at the time. Then my teacher brought in a painting of a galleon on a stormy sea and I was hooked! Much as I love the written word, sometimes you just need an evocative illustration.

Aesop’s Fables

This is filled with fantastic life lessons that have stayed with me to this day.

Famous Five

by Enid Blyton. This book taught me a lot about teamwork. And who didn’t want to be one of the Famous Five?
